Checklist Overview

Getting your pool certified before you list can prevent delays, reduce buyer friction, and improve sale confidence.

Use this checklist to catch the top ACT pool compliance issues before your official inspection.

📘 ACT Pool Certification Guide

Gate & Latch Function

  • □ Gate self-closes and latches from all positions

  • □ Latch is 1500mm above ground or shielded internally

  • □ No manual slamming or assist needed to close

Fence Condition & Height

  • □ Barrier is at least 1200mm high

  • □ No panels are loose, rusted, or leaning

  • □ Gaps under fence are under 100mm

  • □ No climbable rails or horizontal bars between 100–1200mm

Surroundings — Non-Climbable Zone

  • □ 900mm clear on the outside

  • □ 300mm clear on the inside top

  • □ No steps, boxes, pots, chairs, branches in this space

Windows & Doors

  • □ No external doors open directly to pool area

  • □ Windows into pool area are sealed or restricted to 100mm

  • □ Flyscreens don’t count — use fixed security screens or locks

CPR Sign

  • □ CPR sign is mounted, weatherproof, visible from pool area

  • □ Wording matches current ACT standards
